In 2018, inside our Chania workshop, we shaped soft drapery into metal and named it Peplos—a language of waves, ridges, and sculptural light. Those early pieces, photographed and archived from the bench to the final shot, became the heartbeat of Athenart.

Our documented timeline
- 2018 — Creation in Chania: the first Peplos forms are sculpted, cast in sterling silver 925, and photographed with dated files.
- 2019 : Exhibited at Zappeio Megaro with The Group A jewel made in Greece

2019 : New York article & presentations: the collection travels at Mad Museum and is documented in New York, adding time-stamped proof of precedence to our archive.

- 2018→today: the line evolves—rings, earrings, cuffs—always hand-finished in Athens where the last 5 years Athena has her Workshop.
On lookalikes and why spirit matters
Over the years, we’ve seen similar designs appear elsewhere. We do not name others; we simply stand by our work. Designs can be echoed, but the spirit of Athenart cannot be stolen. Our process, our hand, our archive, and our community bear the story forward.
How to recognize an authentic Athenart Peplos piece

Signature folds: flowing “cloth-turned-metal” waves with tactile depth. Every piece of Peplos collection has the Athenart written on it.

Materials: sterling silver 925, available in silver, silver gold-plated, or silver oxidized

Handmade marks: subtle textures and variations—proof of the maker’s touch

Born in Chania & Athens: crafted in our studio; shipped worldwide with care
Care & plating notes
Plating lives with you. For rings and cuffs we recommend double plating (~2–3 μm); oxidation will mellow beautifully over time. Gentle storage and a soft cloth keep the folds luminous.
